PE Funding

PE & Sports Funding

We are pleased to share with you some exciting changes in our Physical Education Curriculum at Spring Meadow. This is linked to the additional Government Funding given to all Schools this academic year. We have received £8000.00 plus £5.00 per pupil from Reception to Year Two. Over the next three terms Key Stage One classes will begin taking part in two weekly P.E sessions delivered and planned by their class teacher with the support and guidance of a Premier Sport fully qualified coach. Reception will begin their two weekly sessions in the Spring term.

Premier Sport has successfully been running our after school sports clubs for the last two years and they are the leading children’s coaching company in the UK.  We hope this new partnership will help to provide a high quality P.E curriculum, inspiring pupils to succeed and excel in sport and provide opportunities for our pupils to become physically confident.

PE Lessons

P.E lessons will be outside for most of the Autumn and Summer terms. The children will therefore need to have appropriate clothing. The list below confirms the named kit your child should have in school.

  • Named Tracksuit bottoms
  • Named Jumper (not the school jumper they wear during the day)
  • Named T-shirt (again not the one they wear for school)
  • Named trainers (not their school shoes)
  • Named shorts
  • Named socks – especially the girls who wear tights.
