Week 2

Year 2 have had their thinking caps back on this week and have been looking at writing explanations. They have been learning about lighthouses and diving into the text to find new words to use in their writing. They have also been revising their place values, allowing them to easily add and subtract numbers within 100.

In computing the children made some fantastic space animations using stop motion with rockets flying across the page, dogfighting and doing loop the loops!

Keep up the hard work.
Week 1
Welcome to the Summer Term! It was great to see everyone again after the break and hear about all their different experiences.
This week we have started learning about stop motion animation in Computing by making our own flip books - maybe you could try this again at home. In DT we had a go at sewing! The children practised a running stitch in preparation for making their own felt pouch. Lots of needles needed to be threaded again and again, and some of our sewing got a bit tangled up, but we all persevered! If you have scraps of fabric and a needle and thread, please do encourage your child to practise this at home, it would be really helpful.
